The caught up record in the number of Polish Championships won by Legia Warszawa, the two youngest scorers in the 21st century, the three-digit number of youth goals, but also technological development, new TV partners and successful e-sport projects. It all took place during the last season. However, its second part was dominated mostly by the fight against coronavirus.
– This annual report summarises a very unusual, certainly the most surprising season in the history of post-war football league. It was a year that we started with ambitious, solidly based plans and bold strategy of their implementation. We had been working intensively for many months with a view to the long-term and multidimensional development of the league. Since mid-March, however, we have had to entirely reorganize our resources and redefine our priorities due to a completely surprising suspension of the competitions – the first since the outbreak of World War II. All the activities of the upcoming months are dominated by the project of resuming the league and simultaneous efforts to restore clubs’ financial situation – undermined by sudden and unexpected cut-off from the planned revenues – writes in the introduction to the report the President of the Management Board of Ekstraklasa S.A. Marcin Animucki
