- I would like to thank the management board for the work so far, consistent development of Ekstraklasa in the commercial area and meeting all the challenges related to the pandemic, and I am glad that this board will be able to continue its mission in the next term of office. I would also like to express my thanks to the entire supervisory board and the clubs' authorities, especially for good and constructive cooperation, which in this difficult period required from all of us wise decisions and compromises. I believe that with these experience we will be able to cooperate even better in the future in the interests of all Polish professional football - said the chairman of the Supervisory Board of Ekstraklasa S.A., Dariusz Mioduski, president of Legia Warszawa.
During the term of office of the Animucki-Mastalerek management board Ekstraklasa makes the highest payments to the clubs in history thanks to record revenues from media and marketing contracts. Also in the pandemic circumstances and with the smaller number of matches played in the current season, annual payments will exceed PLN 225 million. This is possible thanks to new contracts with Canal+ and TVP negotiated by the team led by Animucki in the summer of 2020, which stabilize the league's revenues until the 2022/23 season and fully complying the contracts with marketing and media partners by Ekstraklasa.
At the same time, during the pandemic, the Polish top-tier football league increased its international reach by signing international agreements ensuring the presence of the PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa games broadcast in 17 countries. It also continued technological development, incl. its own OTT platform - Ekstraklasa.TV, which gives access to live matches even in remote corners of the world and production of matches at the highest world level. The league's business and technology projects under the coordination of Marcin Animucki and Marcin Mastalerek are carried out in parallel with the management of Ekstraklasa matches during the pandemic crisis.
- We have just finished an extremely difficult season, played entirely in a pandemic. Thanks to the close cooperation with clubs and great discipline within the league, as well as good cooperation with the Polish federation, the government and the exchange of knowledge at the international level, we can both celebrate the completing the games on schedule and also be glad that we left this period strengthened and united in many dimensions. It is a very valuable experience for everyone and a great foundation for further work for the development of the league and football as a whole. On behalf of the management board, I would like to thank the supervisory board for its trust and mandate for the next term of office, as well as for the support it has provided us in many projects. I would also like to thank all our shareholders, clubs and PZPN, for their joint efforts last season and their constant readiness to cooperate and take on challenges. With such support, we could use many opportunities and we are closing this season with experience that we will be able to use for the further development of the league in the coming years - comments Marcin Animucki, president of the board of Ekstraklasa.
