In the jubilee season, in which the Ekstraklasa competition celebrates its 100th anniversary, we are making available a completely refreshed website Ekstraklasa.org and a new version of the mobile app. Both solutions have been designed with faster, more intuitive and personalized access to the most important information, statistics and new functionalities in mind, thanks to which fans can be even closer to the most popular football competition in Poland.
– We are starting a season that will be exceptional due to the 100th anniversary of the Ekstraklasa competition. We wanted it to be accompanied by a modern digital platform that meets the needs of fans. The new website is a place for both those looking for current information and those interested in statistics, analyses or the history of the league. We believe it will be the showcase of Ekstraklasa and an important element of its further development, strengthening our position among the most technologically advanced football leagues – says Marcin Mikucki, director of the communications, marketing and sales department of Ekstraklasa SA.
The new digital platform includes a refreshed website and a mobile application, which offer a range of new functionalities. On the website, fans will find extensive match statistics, detailed club and player profiles, and tools to facilitate the analysis of the competition, such as a player comparison tool and charts presenting changes in team positions in the table throughout the season. The website also features a special section dedicated to the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of Ekstraklasa, gathering information about jubilee events and initiatives. The platform is also available in an English language version.
A mobile application has been designed for even greater fan engagement. Users can use it to join the Predictor, predicting match results and competing in rankings for prizes, as well as gain quick access to Fantasy Ekstraklasa. The key purpose of the application is to provide entertainment and unique emotions, and during matches – to serve as a "second screen". Greengo Group is responsible for the development of both products.
- Collaborating with Ekstraklasa is a tremendous honour for us, and being the Technology Partner during the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the league's founding fills us with pride, but at the same time we feel a great sense of responsibility. First and foremost, we want to express our gratitude for the trust placed in us; however, we are aware that we are able to help Ekstraklasa develop in the digital area. We believe that, just like Ekstraklasa, of course on our much smaller scale, we look boldly towards Europe and want to support the league in being at the forefront not only on the pitch – says Dominik Łagowski, President of the Management Board of Greengo Group.
An important element of both products will be the tailoring of content to the individual user. After logging in, the application allows profile personalisation by selecting a favourite club and creating a custom kit. This will give fans faster access to news and notifications related exclusively to their team. Segmentation also applies to the Predictor and Fantasy Ekstraklasa – a player is assigned to rankings where they can compete with other supporters of their team.
We do not treat this project as just another CMS, website and application implementation. For us, it is the construction of a digital operating system for the league – one that connects fan engagement through entertainment, clubs, content and business partners. Sport in Europe needs such solutions, and we want to show that they can be created in Poland - explains Marcin Pelc, member of the Management Board of Greengo Group.
- We have several months of intensive work behind us. We rebuilt the entire back-end of the website and application to increase their performance during matches and to make it easier to implement further functionalities in the future. We want these products to allow fans to experience the emotions of the PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa competition even more intensely. We are creating one coherent ecosystem that responds to the needs of different audience groups. We engage "casual" fans primarily through gamification with prizes, while providing more dedicated fans with advanced statistics and historical content. The new platform also brings tangible benefits for Ekstraklasa's partners. We can offer them new advertising spaces, thereby increasing the value of marketing rights – says Daniel Kobyłka, new media manager at Ekstraklasa SA.
The new website and mobile application are one of the elements of broader activities prepared for the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Ekstraklasa competition. Further initiatives are also planned in the near future, including new marketing campaigns and activities.
