The Department of Competition Logistics has published the match dates for the 3rd round of PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa. The match Wisła Kraków - Wisła Płock will take place on Friday, 7 August at 20:30, while the Korona Kielce - Legia Warszawa match will be played on Saturday, 8 August at 20:15. Due to the participation of five teams in the qualifying rounds for European cups, confirmation of the exact dates for the 3rd round matches will follow on 31 July after the conclusion of the 2nd qualifying round of the Champions League and Conference League.
– This is undoubtedly the most difficult matchday to schedule in the new season. We have prepared the fixture list in an optimistic variant, assuming the advancement of all our teams to the next round, however we must be ready for possible adjustments if the results do not prove so favourable. This particularly concerns the matches of Górnik Zabrze and Lech Poznań, as the dates of their league fixtures depend on which competitions they will be participating in during the third qualifying round – says Marcin Stefański, Chief Operating Officer of Ekstraklasa SA.
Final confirmation of match dates will follow the conclusion of the second qualifying round of the Champions League and Conference League.
– This is the nature of European cup qualifying. Clubs find out the dates and venues of their next matches very late, which is why we also need to be flexible in situations where we want to provide organisational and logistical support to our cup representatives. We remain in constant operational contact with all parties involved, including our media partners. We are pleased that club representatives approach this situation with full understanding and are aware of the circumstances behind it. We hope that the published schedule will not require any changes, as that would mean all our teams have secured promotion. However, we must wait until 31 July for final confirmation – adds Marcin Stefański.
In the 2026/2027 season, as in previous competitions, our cup representatives have the option to postpone two league matches during the qualifying rounds. This applies to one fixture during the Q2 and Q3 rounds and one match between the play-off ties.
