This is another transfer window in which Widzew Łódź may have no equal. In recent months, the club signed, among others, Przemysław Wiśniewski and Bartłomiej Drągowski, and has now announced the transfer of Karol Świderski. The group of Polish national team players in the capital of the Łódź voivodeship is becoming truly impressive.
Karol Świderski has played 51 matches for the national team, scoring 14 goals. In previous years, he was an important part of the squad, working well alongside Robert Lewandowski. The chances of both strikers playing together at Widzew next season are slim, but nothing can be ruled out.
For the 29-year-old, this is a return to Łódź, as he spent some time in the city during his junior career. It is also a return to Ekstraklasa, as he would not have had such an impressive European career without four successful seasons at Jagiellonia Białystok between 2014 and 2018. His tally in the Polish league so far stands at 113 matches and 20 goals. Świderski has signed a contract with Widzew Łódź until 30 June 2029, so we expect him to want to set records in the PKO Bank Polski Ekstraklasa.
